Scope of Work
On-site survey attendance, damage narratives, and technical documentation support for insurance matters.
Pre-Survey Coordination
Identify and notify relevant stakeholders:
Insurance underwriters (H&M, P&I, War Risk)
Appointed surveyors
Ships Command and technical department
Review scope and purpose of the insurance survey (condition, valuation, etc.)
Provide prior documentation:
Class status
Previous survey reports
Damage/repair history
Voyage logs & maintenance records

Onsite Survey Support
Attend survey on behalf of owner or manager Ensure access to:
Machinery space, cargo holds, tanks, ballast spaces
Logs and defect reports
Relevant crew members (engineer, cargo officer, etc.)
Coordinate with ship's Master and Chief Engineer for accurate reporting
Assist surveyor with:
Explaining maintenance practices
Confirming incident timelines and corrective actions


Documentation & Evidence Handling
Collect and provide:
Photos/videos of damages or affected areas
Maintenance logs, repairs, and spare parts history
Oil analysis, ultrasound, or UT measurements, if applicable
Compile report packages for H&M or P&I use
Support statements of fact, damage narratives, and time logs

Compliance & Preventive Advisory
Identify areas of potential insurance risk exposure Recommend preventive measures (e.g., LSA/FFA status, structural integrity, recordkeeping) Provide:
Insurance condition surveys (pre-renewal).
Class & statutory compliance review.

Digital Record & Report Management
Maintain insurance related documentation in digital archive Support integration with ship/shore documentation software Provide audit trails for:
Surveyor visits
Insurance correspondence
